Every once in a while I come across an animal of whose existence I had hitherto been entirely ignorant and which is, therefore, a pleasure to share. I give you, the Saiga:

I swear on Sir David Attenborough’s chinos that this preposterous-looking creature is not a made-up Star Wars extra.

And while we’re on the subject of outrageously adapted asian ungulates, please give a warm welcome to the Himalayan Tahr:

Well, perhaps not too warm a welcome since in that coat he’s liable to overheat and burst into flames…

      Yep, the world is full of bizarre and improbable-looking creatures. I love it. It is a constant reminder not to lose my sense of wonder.
